Firstly it’s worth stating that some of the aspects of this won’t pick up the 2nd games for teams but I’ll state these

Here’s the anytime goal scoring odds from one bookie as of today for below £2.50 for £1 invested.  However it is for DGW players only and only for the first game

Clear Payet and then Carroll.  The first site is a good correlation with the top 10k as shown in FPL discovery. This is also a good proxy for active managers.

Here’s his overall stats for the season: 27 games plus 1 as sub 9 goals and 11 assists. Minutes per FPL point 15.0 mins. Consistency returns 16/28  57%.   10+ point scoring 5/28 18%. Last 6 games 29 points and returns in 4/6 games. Has set piece responsibility. West Ham have 4th spot to play for

Overall: 50 goals conceded. The 14th ranked in the league. 9 clean sheets the 9th equal ranked in the league.

Away : 31 goals conceded 16th ranked in league. 1 clean sheet 19th equal ranked

Could they be any worse?  15 goals and 3 thrashings.  Nothing to play for now and it looks like their defensive leader and star Williams won’t play.

Overall: 31 goals conceded the 2nd ranked team. 17 clean sheets and 1st equal ranked clean sheet record

Away: 23 goals conceded. 8th equal ranked GC away. 5 clean sheets and 8th equal ranked clean sheets away

So not too bad a record considering the opposition except for the Spurs game.  With 4th to play for this won’t be an easy game.

Summary

Comparison Table

I find the table quite useful in deciding who’s the best option.

Gametime has to marginally go with Payet.  In my mind he should play both games with 4th place in mind.  I think the presence of Sakho and less so Valencia means that there has to be some, albeit small given his current form, doubt over whether he will start both

The bookies go for Carrroll although to be fair thats for anytime goal scoring.  Payet has a strong set piece presence and assist record to help balance that out.

The polls go with Payet although Carroll runs Payet close in some

The top 10 managers despite their only being 1 has gone for Payet

Overall stats in my mind favour Carroll when you factor in starts as opposed to sub appearances although Payet has been very consistent.

For recent form whether it’s at home or overall that goes to Carroll.

So it’s how you rate those factors in your decision

The FFGeek choice

I have to say Carroll has really made a strong case but I’m stciking with Payet.  He will be my triple captain too.
