Introduction
This article consists of a schedule ranking forwards based on their underlying stats over the first 10 games of the season. xG90 and xA90 are converted to FPL attacking points adjusted by their average minutes played. I have adjusted a couple of average minutes where they are not representative at all of going forward
There’s also their FPL points per match as well as their value for money rating. The higher the better. Above 10 is the gold standard
The rankings are purely mathematical and there is no adjustment for fixtures coming up. The attacking players fixture ease schedule is below
Their is a new stat based on the performances in each individual gameweek where they are rated good orbad in relation to their cost. The column “x Consist %” states the % of times in relation to their starts they were rated good in the first 6 gameweeks. Prices are as of 3 November.
The Patreon version has Joe’s Transfer Planner and Points Projection Tool’s top points predictions for forwards in GW11 and over the next 5 gameweeks
The ranking schedule
As I said above the rankings are based on their 21/22 xG90 and xA90 converted to FPL attacking points adjusted by their average minutes played.
There is no adjustment to the ranking for fixtures upcoming
A couple of notes
*are players who are the clubs primary penalty taker at the moment
Injuries mean no Broja, Lukaku, Werner, Calvert-Lewin or Bamford
Pedro and Cucho were subbed at half time in GW10 so I’ve excluded them. The same for Iheanacho
Maupay and Benteke didn’t start in GW10 so I’ve not included them. Ive not included Cavani for general gametime risk.
I’ve not included Armstrong or Adams who seemed to have been displaced by Broja who’s now injured but the good performance (albeit wasteful) at Watford means there must be confusion over who’s first choice there.
Firmino and Lacazette I’ve used last seasons numbers and similar for Josh King as the gametime isn’t sufficent
Transfer suggestions
Here I’m looking for players close to a VFM of 10 who have been relatively consistent and have good fixtures ahead including a good entry point.
It’s slim pickings this week. The main transfer suggestion this week is
Ivan Toney
You don’t get any better than an entry point vs Norwich. He also has pen duties and has been a relatively consistent provider of underlying stats and he’s pretty much guaranteed 90 minutes every game.
On the negative side its only 2 goals and 2 assists in 10 games only returning a goal or assist in 3 of those matches. 1 of which was a penalty. His non penalty xG90 is woeful and he’s providing good underlying stats from his creativity rather than shooting.
It’s really whether you think the excellent fixtures outweigh those negatives.
Aubameyang
This is about fixtures and recent improvement rather than any consistet performance this season.
Aubameyang has 3 goals and an assist in his last 5 appearances returning a goal or assist in 3 of those 5 games. The underlying stats in the last 3 have also been markedly improved.
A good entry point v Watford and then Newcastle in GW13 could pay dividends for those wanting to take a punt.
