You can see my early thoughts on the FFGeek team article if you want more detail but finally a green arrow after 2 red ones even if it was a small one. The overwhelming feeling was that of relief as prior to Choupo Moting it was looking like a big red arrow and a 200k plus rank.
Again while I continually moan every gameweek my overall rank isn’t a disaster. It’s just the lack of progress from a good start and going backwards from a high point of 49k in GW4. I’m still ahead of 8 of the top 10 FPL managers I follow and 4th in our 15 strong contributors league. This week got me back to first in the alternate FFGeek teams league
TRANSFER OPTIONS
I would have liked to have got Sane in this week as the Huddersfield v Man City game scares me seriously and I imagine with playing the 90 minutes Sterling will be on the bench. It’s not possible without multiple hits or removing Kane or Lukaku, both with excellent fixtures this week.
Also, I’ve just got the 1 transfer at the moment and as I have 2 injured defenders in Jones and Stones there’s no thinking to be done about a multitude of options just who to replace Stones with who appears to have the longest term injury.
Readers will know I’m a a believer that Man City are the best defensive team so I’m going for like for like with Otamendi coming in. That will be the 2nd week in a row where I make a defensive transfer with the incoming defender facing Huddersfield after Charlie Daniels next week. Funnily enough I’m considering Mustafi for Jones next week which would make it the trifecta.
Seriously though, a fixture against Huddersfield is a great defensive entry point. Furthermore the nature of Wilsons header from a set piece was just ridiculous defending so hopefully that could provide a greater chance for Otamendi attacking wise. Huddersfield will have Schindler back and be at home which will strengthen them.

CAPTAIN CHOICE
I’m probably going with Kane despite my captain choice article. It’s seems to be the ranking shield choice although with Lukaku’s ownership it’s always a bit doubtful. If I change I will tweet it but it could be last minute as I cogitate and pontificate.
LINEUP ISSUES
None really. I’ve put Jones in the lineup despite him being injured in case of some miracle recovery. That means Zaha will play. I put Ward ahead of Carroll mainly due to the fact that Carroll was on the bench last week. I regretted something similar with Loftus Cheek last week so hopefully not again.
