FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM SELECTION – THE FFGEEK TEAM FOR GW10

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Here’s the FFGeek team for GW10. Then as usual we look at the transfers and dilemmas plus the team selection and captain issues. We also see how the bookies rate the team to see it’s prospects.  I’m away for a few days after today so need to do it earlier than I would have liked.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM SELECTION – THE FFGEEK TEAM FOR GW10

LAST WEEK

A disappointing week when I went back from 169k to 240k.  However as you would have seem from my top 10 managers article that 9/10 had red arrows so a bad week for many

Here’s the team from last week:

If you remember my FFGeek TEAM article from last week my 50/50 was Austin v Holebas.  I went for the bookies odds and got it wrong unfortunately.

TRANSFERS THIS WEEK

I carried over a transfer so have 2 up my sleeve.  With Arsenal playing Spurs next week and all the Aguero worry going on I thought I would carry it over to see if a rainy day was on the way.  Obviously Snodgrass is injured for some time so needs to go.  However, In addition to that this weeks team doesn’t have any particular issues apart from the GK.  The Everton defence hasn’t been performing as I would have liked and they have Chelsea next so a sale could have happened there but I’ve held off for the moment.  Austin also has a tough fixture against Chelsea but with Hull next week he’s going no where.

The GK is a pain this week and Stokes Grant would be useful for the Swansea game but  with Butland possibly back in a couple of weeks that made no sense.  Save points do mitigate the GK issue but I’m keen to avoid last year when Butland was a real point maker for FPL managers.

So having decided to roll it over that meant that I had to spend 1 transfer on the Snodgrass injury.  The choices in the £6.0m camp were pretty limiting although there were a number of players I did consider (here they are with their anytime goals scoring odds)

Watford play Hull so they were obviously on my radar – Pereya £5.00 but no returns in last 4 and Capoue £3.60 who will damage me if he does return due to his serious player ownership was a big consideration.

I ruled out Southamptons Redmond  (£3.10) and Evertons Bolasie (£3.00) due to not wanting to double up on those clubs attacking assets.

Stanislas (£4.33) and King (£3.50) I both like but both are gametime worries through injury and selection plus Middlesboro may not leak goals in my view.

Palaces Zaha £4.75 has also impressed me but home to Liverpool is a difficult fixture

In the end I decided on Stoke CAM Joe Allen (£3.60).   He was the highest ranked for the price in my midfielders “ones to watch” article for the price.  Plays as a CAM and has good underlying stats over the last 4 games and has a good run of fixtures.  As you can see though he’s going to start life on my bench probably.

What I didn’t mention is that all week I’ve been umming and arring over a 1 week transfer from Aguero to Man Utd striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after seeing how Southampton pummelled Burnley.  However in the end I talked myself out of it.  I did it last year with Mahrez and only just got away with it.  However Aguero is a big risk to take out even at WBA.  He didn’t start in the EFL cup last night so that should cement his starting place.  How ridiculous does that sound.

The final transfer then was Snodgrass out Allen in.  £0.9m in the bank

So here’s the lineup:

TEAM SELECTION DECISIONS

So having done the 1 transfer then there were 2 selection decisions.  The GKs and Allen vs Williams as Holebas home to Hull was definitely going in.

From the GK’s perspective it will always take something special to get Foster out who’s a great shot stopper out of the team. The bookies gave him a better clean sheet prospect anyway so in he went.

Everton CB Williams at home to West Ham vs Stoke new transfer Allen at home to Swansea was the last decision.  Williams had the better bookie odds for a clean sheet vs Allens scoring odds but also my feeling is that West Ham are looking to strengthen their defensive position and have no striker plus Antonio as a full back which also weakens them.  I also do generally still believe in the Everton defence even after last week.

I didn’t mention Austin who against an inform defensive Chelsea could have gone on the bench.  Even against Chelsea he seems a dangerous player so he stayed in.

BOOKIES TEAM RATING

fpl-gw10ffgeekteambookiesrating

So pretty good. Anytime you’ve got an average at or under £2.60 (especially with the GK rating) you’ve got to be happy. With the GK out it’s £2.26.  Only 1 players at £3.00 or lower and 3 players under £2.00 is all pretty good.  However I said that last week!

CAPTAIN CHOICE

Have yet to do an article so gone for the poll leader of Sanchez
