Gameweek 17
I went into GW17 in detail in my early thoughts on the FFGeek team article so I won’t go into it too much here.
GW17 points: 49 (average 43) Total points 1,013, Gameweek rank 1,860k, Overall Rank: 98k, red arrow 3k, Team Value: £103.1m
Here’s the points:
So using the normal metrics I use for a successful gameweek, I had 5 returning players with 1 double figure point haul which is pretty inline with 4 minimum. However the gameweek average of 1.8m was some way short of the target of 1 million. A small red arrow of 3k was produced.
I still find it hard to look at Ings’s 13 points on the bench

So here’s my team planner which I’ve taken from my early FFGeek early team article to save some time
So in theory it should be a good gameweek based on the odds with the bench of Wan Bissaka, Doherty and Hojbjerg being the only poor odds.
Team transfer thoughts
1 transfer and £0.3m in the bank.
So again this week my intention was too roll over the free transfer for 2 next week.
Kolasinac is a doubt which I could have replaced but the Arsenal website still says it’s an assessment to be made rather than final so I’ll leave him in given he’s home to Burnley.
Foster was also something I could have done but he has a few decent fixtures soon coming up so I’ve left that.
I could have also done Fraser to Snodgrass but Brighton at home is a good fixture so it didn’t seem necessary.
My reasoning behind the 2 transfers is if I want to get Salah in. It’s not much fun not having him. I couldn’t watch the Man Utd game last week I knew I wouldn’t have enjoyed it so while I’m relaxed this week given the Salah v Sterling situation I like having the flexibility for next week if I decide to.
So carrying over the free transfer it is.
Lineup issues
No issues with who’s on the bench. Doherty, Wan Bissaka and Hojbjerg were always going to be on the bench. It was just the order and whether I went Hojbjerg or Doherty first. In the end I went for Doherty. I can’t see a clean sheet he’s always liable for an attacking return.
Captain choice
Sterling for me. You can see my captain analysis article which has alot of detail. In the end it was a matter of choosing the best captain as the polls were close. He was the poll leader but I think I would have gone for him anyway.
I’ve gone for Sane as vice as I’m pretty confident he will start. I normally avoid the same team as captain and vice in case the game gets called off for whatever reason but I’m putting that aside this week.
