FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE WILDCARD TIPS GW32 – OUR IMAGINARY WILDCARD

Fantasy Premier League, imaginary wildcard

Here’s our fantasy premier league wildcard tips GW32 where we pretend we have a wildcard to use. It gives player tips with more longevity than just for the up coming gameweek

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE WILDCARD TIPS GW32 – OUR IMAGINARY WILDCARD

So just a reminder that I’m personally not planning on using the wildcard just yet.   For me the plan is to wildcard the week before the potential DGW37 and then use the bench boost gives a more tangible reward than doing it now. It also minimises the injury risk and selection risk. It’s also worth noting that the remaining fixtures should be announced soon so I would hold off transfers and an wildcard activity in case this is done before the gameweek deadline passes.

The imaginary wildcard team is just outside my £102.2m budget at £102.7m

Also take a look at our recent double gameweek article for a wider context of the fixtures.  That article will be irrelevant once the postponed fixtures are announced.

I’ve put together some basic stats to help you assess the players as the short week doesn’t give enough time for the player rankings articles

This is the team:

PLAYER STATS

The stats table is fairly obvious. Just remember that of the DGWs only DGW34 is confirmed. Arsenal and Southampton will most likely play their postponed game in GW35/36. There are also a number of games which are likely to be put into GW37. Again see my double gameweek article for the full explanation.  Again that will be irrelevant if the fixtures are announced soon

COMMENTS

GK

The resting of Man Utd RB Valencia against Everton just shows that finding a unrotatable defender for Man Utd is tricky. De Gea to me offers the most certainty of starts

Pickford is just a cheap save points merchant.

DEFENCE

There’s a load of value in defence at the moment created by injuries to others. That has enabled me to put togther a team of defenders all, apart from Yoshida, challenging for top 4 positions.

Despite the lack of recent clean sheets I’ve stuck with the expensive Alonso due to his attacking ability and my belief that Chelsea still have the best defence.

Stones is great value for a Man City CB.

The next 3 players are all great value created by injuries to others.  Yoshida the Southampton CB (I still prefer Cedric but budget restrictions applied).  Davies the LWB replacement for the injured Rose and lastly CB Gabriel for the injured Koscielny.

MIDFIELD

In midfield I’ve gone for De Roon who has a DGW 34 as the cheapie bench warmer.  He’s secure and as we saw in GW31 can get the odd return.

Sanchez despite 2 consecutive blanks and terrible recent underlying stats is a difficult player to ignore with a DGW coming up.

Alli is in great form with good fixtures to come.  Ward Prowse has some tricky fixtures but will have a DGW.  With a bigger budget this could have been Zaha but he too has tricky fixtures

Lastly I’ve gone for Siggy for 3 good fixtures on the horizon.

FORWARDS

I’ve gone for Origi as the replacement for Mane as he’s also good value at £6.2m with good fixtures coming up

As for the reaction to Sanchez’s 2 blanks you’d think the world had ended with Lukaku having 2 blanks as well.  Lukaku has also suffered a downturn in underlying stats but no where near as extreme as Sanchez’s.  However the fixtures make him a definite keeper for me for the moment

Aguero is there for the Hull home game and allows a switch to Ibrahimovic for the DGW34

A WORD ON DGW34

You’ll notice the lack of DGW34 players in the wildcard team.  Aguero is there as a then flip to Ibrahimovic as the likely captain for DGW34.

That still only means 3 players with 1 transfer to add further.  Remember though you’ve got to plan for GW35/36 of which there are 4 players in the WC team at the moment.  Don’t forget DGW37 where there are 11 players.

For me the players worth considering for DGW34 are Van Aanholt (currently injured), Zaha (maybe replace Ward Prowse above).  Then possibly a cheap Boro defender (all injured?).  No Man Utd attacking player, Ibra apart,  as the rotation is just too tricky even it seems with Mata injured.  So 2 transfers after GW32 could easily do it for DGW34.
