Introduction

This is part 3 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.  The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change.  Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed

Rick Porter

Rick’s last 4 seasons overall ranks were 29k, 1k, 30k and 2k.

GW12 points: 55 -4  (FPL average 51) Total points: 766, Overall Rank: 90k, red arrow: 38k Team Value: £103.2m

A bang on average score is less than ideal and I’m surprised my red arrow wasn’t bigger. The fact that Aubameyang is still owned by 9% of managers is an indication of how many teams have already been abandoned and are dragging that average down.

I essentially broke even on the -4 I took to move out Son and Calvert-Lewin to secure Salah so I could have waited, but I still feel protecting myself from the captain favourite was the right thing to do. Really the only difference I could have made to my week was if I’d played Martinez rather than McCarthy, but that’s the curse of having two playing keepers. McCarthy still scored well, just not as well.

The team

My core team looks in good shape. Vardy, Son and Calvert-Lewin all pose a severe threat should they haul and my premium choices blank, but everyone is in the same boat. Nobody can afford all the top scorers so we’re all going into each gameweek fearing the ones we don’t own.

Transfer

I’ll be rolling my transfer with the intention of downgrading Van Aanholt next week to help firm up my bench.

Captain

Captain will be De Bruyne, Bruno vice.

Chris Tucker

Chris’s last 3 seasons overall rank were 41k, 17k and 1k

GW12 points: 46 -4  (FPL average 51) Total points: 701, Overall Rank: 924k, red arrow: 350k Team Value: £102.2m

A disastrous last gameweek (one of those where everything that could go wrong did go wrong) and one which I would rather forget!

My priority is to bring in a City defender. One option is removing Robertson and getting either Dias or Cancelo. However, I can’t help but notice a way into that defence at a cheaper price: John Stones at just 4.8m. A risk, certainly. I’m now thinking of acquiring him by ditching Lamptey, who I really like as an attacking full back but who has been frustrating recently and is flagged. This would also allow me to hang onto Robertson for a little longer.

Captain will be De Bruyne.

Good luck, everyone!

Transfer summary:  Possibly John Stones for Lamptey

Avishek Majumdar

Avishek’s last 3 seasons are 13k, 45k and 64k

GW12 points: 40 -4  (FPL average 51) Total points: 682, Overall Rank: 1,408k, red arrow: 567k Team Value: £102.8m

Disastrous GW and easily the worst this season. All the steady rises in the last few weeks were undone in one week of madness. Of course Vardy scored for only the 2nd time at home when I got rid of him for a hit and of course Mane failed to score again. In hindsight I don’t know if I made a mistake but getting priced out of the Salah move proved costly in the worst possible way. Anyway, I would be hoping Mane does something against Spurs before I ship him out for Salah the week after. For this GW I have already made the move from Jota who seems to be out for a few weeks to Soucek who’s been the best value for money 5th mid this season. This has freed up some funds which I can hopefully utilize to upgrade a bench defender during the busy Christmas schedule.

Transfer complete: Jota to Soucek.

Captain on  De Bruyne at the moment although it’s a close one between him and Bruno.
