Bryan Forbes O’Rourke

Bryan finished an incredible 7th place overall in telegraph fantasy football last season

49 gameweek points, total points 1,572, Overall rank 1,996 transfers available 16

An average sort of week so far with 49 points scored and back in time to 1996 place overall.
Good points from Robertson with 2 assists and goals from the two forwards.
I had intended to sub Jesus and Sane for Kane and Anderson last weekend.  I missed the 7.30pm deadline last Friday to bring Anderson in.  There was absolutely no way I was going to miss the early game deadline to bring in Kane in, except I was late back from swimming lessons so that transfer didn’t happen either. Looking at boarding schools for next year.  No major damage done though despite Kane scoring a fine goal and looking hungry like the wolf.  Aguero came in on Wednesday for Jesus instead and netted a penalty to spare my blushes.
My transfer thoughts concern Sane and Otto, who will be subbed at the weekend in order somehow to get Rashford and Shaw in place.
Best of luck.

Sergio finished in 1,951 position last season in telegraph fantasy football

41 Gameweek points Total Pts 1,574 Overall rank 1,876 Transfers available 11

That was a poor week with 41 points, although the drop in rank of 100 places was not too bad. The week events were totally dominated by the Liverpool defence performance, with their 3 top choices having an unbelievable 7 attacking returns combined plus the clean sheet. I’ve already pointed out throughout the season that this year top of the leaderboard seemed dominated by Liverpool rich defences. This week was further proof of this, my best other TFF team was placed around position 200 without any Liverpool defensive cover, and the drop was phenomenal to almost 500.

For this week, I think it is probably time for Jota to go, I brought him for a 3-0 with good fixtures before the previous cup round, but the move didn’t pay off and he seems to be either injury doubt or subbed at 60 minutes now. Probably looking at Aguero finally in his place.

Good luck this week Geekers!

Team review

Shocking, disastrous, painful, take your pick. I suppose I was due a bad week, but after sneaking up to the verge of the top 1000, this was particularly disappointing.

Kepa was punished by being left on the bench when Chelsea finally decide to keep a clean sheet. Doherty lost his clean sheet in injury time, Sterling and Rashford didn’t start. If it wasn’t for Robertson it would have been even worse. The cherry on the top was, after seeing the starting line ups, I was thinking about changing Jota for Trent A A, but my phone had died, so I was left regretting what might have been.

I am just going to have to take this one on the chin. I can’t believe that my team has become terrible over night, and it was just a set of unfortunate circumstances.

Team thoughts

Where do I start? I’m trying not to make rash, rage transfers. I was already thinking of ditching my Kepa keeper, and with his length of exile being unclear, I think I will go ahead and make a change between the sticks. Alison is the most likely to come in, and with Trent A A another possible swop for Jota, this would set me up with a bold triple Liverpool defence. I will give this a good think before committing. I am slightly concerned about Trent’s pitch time with the Champions League back on the agenda.

On the up side, Rashford was fit enough to make a sub appearance, so hopefully that change will start to pay off. I’m wondering if the wheels are starting to rattle on the Salah wagon. How he came out of the Watford rout with two points is beyond all logic.

It’s going to be a case of lots of deep breaths before assessing my options. The good thing is, Liverpool play Everton in the last game on Sunday, so I can let Jota and Kepa, (if he’s off the naughty step), play before kicking them out.

Good luck boys and girls.

Sorry no screenshot this week as Ben has technical problems
