MLN – 4th head to head completed

My Little Nuts

The  4th round of the head to head in our “My Little Nuts” league or MLN is now completed. Here’s the result of my team’s game and a preview of the week ahead. The French version of the game has 450,000 players and their app is #1 for sports in France. It’s now available for the English premier league

MLN – 4th head to head completed

If you haven’t seen my earlier post about the rules of My Little Nuts here’s a very quick background on our partner game.

In very simple terms it’s a blind auction draft game where you and a small group of friends bid for a minimum 18 players. You compete with league members in a weekly head to head contest scoring points by goals and through a number of other events such as the usual assists and clean sheets plus other more detailed stats such as tackles, passes, recoveries etc etc. These are then converted into virtual goals. There are 3 competitions, the premier league, La Liga and Ligue 1. The length of the contests can be anything from 1.5 to 4 months. I’m in a league of 6.

MLN GW4 HEAD TO HEAD RESULT

As it’s a French based game I’ve called myself the Guingamp Geeks

mln

So an easy win for me 6-1.

The result was mainly down to MLN virtual goals with Mahrez being the only real goalscorer in the tie.

I would have liked more real goals with Alli home to Bournemouth and Lacazette playing Watford but it wasn’t needed.

One thing MLN does is penalise players who don’t set their teams up or have players that don’t start but substituting in what they call “Rotaldo’s” who score very poorly and make it easy for virtual goals to be scored by their opponent.

While my opponent did what appears to be the right thing in a cheap defence he unfortunately picked players who don’t play and that opened the door to virtual goals for me

The naughty WAG bonus with 0.5 point for every player I’m sure contributed to the number of virtual goals so I think that was well used.

One thing I’ve been mentioning as a surprise is the lack of virtual goals for the stats applied to them.  This week was different although it appears to mainly be about injuries and managers not setting teams up.  So one thing I would do is have a fuller squad with a number of cheap defenders and midfielders that play in order not to end up with a less than full team.  Brighton’s Dunk, Stephens and March are the types of players I’m talking about

THIS WEEK

My lineup

 mln

So the only choices for the line up were the GK with Elliot of Newcastle home to Palace and Pickford of Everton home to Arsenal.  Elliot easily won that battle.

The other choice was Wimmer or Gibbs.  Wimmer is home to Bournemouth and WBA away to Southampton so that seemed a fairly easy choice.  Clean sheets guarantee very little and although I would say that Gibbs is the bigger goal threat by a small margin I thought I stick with Wimmer.

For the bonus I’ve gone for the Magic Doc which adds 1 point to a nominated player.  I’ve chosen Mkhitaryan in the hope that if he gets an assist away to Huddersfield that the point for the bonus may push him over the edge for a virtual goal.

 Fixtures of attacking players

Tough week of fixtures this week to play the top team in our league of 6

The Watford Boys play Chelsea

Lacazette is at Everton

Alli plays Liverpool

Mahrez at Swansea and Mkhitaryan at Huddersfield are the only good fixtures.  Unfortunately neither are really goal scoring midfielders more assisters

My opponents team

mln

I’m not sure how this team is leading so convincingly unless he’s got alot of players hiding as subs and will change them later in the week.  The 2 Man City lads could easily win the game on their own but Mousett, Martial and Pedro could all be subs potentially.  Also who is Ulvestad?

A good defence though but 1 with some overlap with mine which is helpful.  Alonso and Koscielny are goal threats though

LEAGUE TABLE

Here’s our league table of 6 players:

So the win has pushed me up to 2nd with but still 6 rounds to go.  A win here would reduce the gap to 2 points.  A loss would increase it to 8 which would make things difficult
