What’s changed or new?
That is different than my blanks and doubles schedule of yesterday in 2 ways:
- I had the Watford fixtures around the other way for GW32 and GW35. I did flag that as a possibility.
- I didn’t speculate on a fixture for the EFL final related postponement of Brighton v Cardiff. Now in GW34
The updated schedule
Here’s the fixture schedule amended for the above.
The fixtures at the top are the core fixtures with those in bold below the confirmed postponed fixtures. Underneath the line are some team relationships (for want of a better word) between the different gameweeks.
A few immediate thoughts
GW32
The Man City double is obviously appealing with Fulham and Cardiff. The tricky part is that the easier the fixture the more tempting for Pep to rotate. Chelsea also have good fixtures with Brighton and Cardiff but are a tad unreliable and expensive unfortunately.
GW34
A good double for Brighton followed by a double in 35. I suppose it could be a triple captain option to either Duffy or Ryan for those who have the free hit and the Bench Boost and are looking for different ways of using the triple captain. Home to Bournemouth and Cardiff are good fixtures.
GW35
Watford have a good double with Huddersfield and Southampton although if they have anything to play for will be the question. The City double is tricky although you always back them to score. Man Utd and Spurs both have City which is unfortunate.
What’s next?
I don’t think this changes my thoughts about using the free hit in 32. Then a wildcard in 34 and a bench boost in 35.
That precludes a triple captain for Brighton in GW34 but my initial thoughts are that I don’t want to lessen the impact of GW35 by avoiding a wildcard in GW34. I would have to wildcard in 32 and then I would be in trouble for 33 unless I free hit which seems a waste of the planning for 31 and 33 just to put the TC on Duffy or Ryan. It also is a big gap to GW35 to navigate through free transfers.
I’ll be doing an early FFGeek article and then following it up with a first draft of the free hit team assuming no change of plans.
Hopefully we’ll see some early FFGeek contributors free hit teams as well.
