Fantasy premier league GW29 review – the best underlying stats from GW29
They are just for GW29 and not cumulative. It only includes selected players who started no subs. I’ve put in past weeks but there are gaps for short weeks where time doesn’t allow this.
The article is in 2 parts. We’ve started with the attacking stats for the players divided by position. Effectively we’ve taken their xG stats and their xA stats and converted them into FPL points and then ranked them. We don’t show the points but that’s how they’re ranked. It’s far more useful than just ranking them by xG and xA separately. I haven’t attempted to rank every player.
There’s shots and key passes so you get a volume perspective as well as a quality perspective.
There’s defender rankings although one off games don’t give a realistic picture. It’s better to look at cumulative stats
The 2nd part is just the ranking of team defensive and attacking performances which is the rank by xG and xG conceded. I’ve also included the GW29 fixtures so you can remind yourself who was playing if needed
The stats are all from the excellent free site understat.com. Player values are as of Tuesday 5 March.

Best midfielders in GW29
I’ve turned the xG and xA from GW29 only into theoretical FPL points and ranked them. Only attacking points no bonus or appearance points.
Their ranking for previous gameweeks is also included. If there is a blank it could mean they didn’t play or were a sub or I just didn’t include them for whatever reason. This week I’ve tried to give reasons for absences or shown if they were a sub. I’ve split it into 2 for the latter players. It’s impossible to do this article in the short gameweeks as time doesn’t allow it
