Introduction

It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends. However the FFGeek team and the Contributor tracker team mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make transfers as articles are posted. So you’re always up to date and live

Scott Taylor

Scott’s last 4 seasons ORs were 12k, 15k, 1k and 12k

GW9 Points: 86 -4  (FPL average 64) Total points: 612, Overall Rank: 162k, red arrow: 50k  Team Value: £101.7m

Scott has all his chips

Transfer: either rolling or taking a -4 for White and Benrahma out and Chilwell and Mbeumo or Smith Rowe in. Given I’m unsure and Mbeumo’s unclear injury status, I’m leaning towards rolling.

Captain: Salah. Vice: Havertz

Transfer summary: to be confirmed

Here’s the team prior to any transfers being made

Chris Tucker

Chris’s last 4 seasons overall ranks were 249k, 41k, 17k and 1k

GW9 Points: 105 -4  (FPL average 64) Total points: 633, Overall Rank: 48k, green arrow: 50k  Team Value: £101.9m

Chris has used his wildcard

Having spent most of the week considering Raphinha and Vardy replacements, it now looks like both are fit and this allows me to focus my attention elsewhere.

My original intention when wildcarding a few weeks ago had been to use GW10 to move Smith-Rowe to Mbeumo in time for Brentford’s great fixture run. But the injury concern about the latter, together with Smith-Rowe’s performance in GW9, has left me thinking that this move can wait.

So instead my thoughts have turned to Chillwell, who, because of form and fixtures, is becoming very much must-own in my opinion. With only £0.7m in the bank, I either need to remove Azpilicueta or Kyle Walker. I think Azpilicueta will play against Newcastle and I am currently favouring the Chelsea defensive double up over a City double up. Looking ahead, I prefer Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures from a clean sheet perspective. And I also think Azpilicueta is likely to see more game time than Walker.

I will wait until the press conferences to make my move, just in case I have called it wrong and Azpilicueta (or Raphinha) is ruled out.

Best of luck to you all.

Transfer summary: Possibly Walker to Chilwell but to be confirmed

Stephen Troop

Stephens last 5 seasons ORs were 22k, 86k, 43k, 52k & 64k

GW9 Points: 88 (FPL average 64) Total points: 611 Overall Rank: 168k, green arrow: 4K  Team Value: £101.9m

GW9 Review

88 points resulting in the smallest of green arrows (172k-168k)

It was looking a very bad week for me until the captain Salah (48), Trent Alexander-Arnold (10) and Antonio (7) saved the day. Rudiger (9) was my other returner but with big points for Chilwell and James this was very neutral.

Alonso was benched which brought Benrahma’s 3 points off the bench. Sanchez got 2 bonus and 2 save points, Cancelo, Gallagher and Ronaldo blanked, as did my two transfers in (Raphinha and Toney) so my lower owned players did worse compared to some of the other options that people had. Smith Rowe and Foden in particular.

GW10 Preview

1FT and £0.0m ITB.

My main issues are Alonso. Raphinha looks ok and White is a doubts. I made the decision to move Alonso on Saturday after the games to Chilwell. As I had 0.0ITB and Alonso was due to fall and Chilwell rise I had to do this Saturday. This did pose a risk especially with midweek league cup games, and I don’t remember ever making a transfer so early, but my bench is pretty strong and figured it worth the risk.

Bielsa seemed reasonably confident Raphina would be ok for Norwich but if he isn’t then I have Gallagher off the bench. White was only a bench player anyway.

This lines me up with the below. Ideally I’d like Foden but I’d need to downgrade Ronaldo and upgrade Benrahma to do this which isn’t really possible this week. Lukaku I suspect will remain injured so even ignoring the hits I don’t see anything I like. I would like to lose Benrahma with West Ham’s fixtures and his poor form but this can wait until next week now at least. Villa isn’t a bad fixture at least, and can play Gallagher instead next week anyway

Captain will be Salah (I suspect everyone’s will be)

transfer summary: Alonso to Chilwell completed. Likely to not make further transfers

Here’s the team with just the above transfer completed

Sergio Torija

Sergio’s last 5 seasons overall ranks were 262k 2k, 596k, 17k and 21k

GW9 Points: 51 -4  (FPL average 64) Total points: 553, Overall Rank: 1,210k, red arrow: 802k  Team Value: £102.1m

Sergio has used his wildcard

The disaster week of the year for me is here, dropped from 400K to 1.2m OR which is crazy. The differential captain on Havertz didn’t work and it was so badly punished by Salah, who to make things worse was so heavily captained this week after Lukaku’s injury. I also had 3 non-playing defenders to not field a full eleven. The only positive was Livramento’s 9 points, but he is also heavily owned anyway.

So going into next week with a badly looking team with 3 flags (Raphinha, Marcal, Christensen) and a player who has possibly lost his place (Duffy). My only possible realistic way to make funds for any upgrade is Ronaldo, who I am more than happy to let go at this point, meaning another -4. I’ve brought back Toney, so plenty of money to spend on a defensive upgrade. I don’t want to go without Alexander Arnold anymore, so just a matter of who to remove for him. I’ve gone with removing Duffy, just because he might be the less likely to see pitch time from here? But who knows.

After last week I need a rest of messing up with captains, so will go with Salah, vice TBC

good luck all

Transfer summary: Ronaldo out for Toney and Duffy out for Alexander Arnold
