Here’s our fantasy premier league best forwards GW7 player rankings article. There’s a table of stats to help you make a transfer choice and some brief commentary.
fantasy premier league best forwards GW7 – player rankings
This is our 3rd player rankings article. You can see defenders and GK rankings and midfielder rankings using these links
With a bit more time here’s the longer version although the comments are very short
Methodology
I’ve started with a selection of forwards that I think will start GW7 and have some longevity in the team.
I’ve then taken their expected goals and assist information from 17/18 and converted it into projected points through adjustments for minutes played bonus and fixtures. There’s also adjustments for any specific relevant 18/19 factors. For fixtures I’ve taken a slightly longer view than previously of 6 games.
Whether you believe the rankings or not there’s plenty of information to make your own decision
We are obviously only 6 gameweeks in so it’s inevitable that the large basis of information is based on last seasons stats
Stats definitions
Pts per 90 17/18: the FPL points earned per 90 minutes played in 17/18
PPM 18/19: the points per match from the FPL site
Fixture ease ranking so you can see who has the best fixtures from GW7-12 and GW7-9. See our fixture ease article
Underlying stats ranking is from our end of season underlying stats article where projected goals are turned into raw points. It’s their rank in relation to all forwards. Info from the excellent free site understat.com
VFM rank. I have divided their projected points by their price to get a rough value for money assessment
ATGS GW7 – 1 bookies anytime goalscoring odds for the player. It assumes they start and doesn’t include assist potential
The schedule
Here’s a link to the google spreadsheet. You can copy and paste it if you wish to change it
I haven’t done much in the way of commentary due to time and the number of players.
Aguero
Only rotation is a negative as we go into UCL season and some short term fixtures
Brighton (H)
Liverpool (A)
Burnley (H)
Spurs (A)
Southampton (H)
Man Utd (H)
Kane
2 great fixtures next are the attraction despite indifferent form
Huddersfield (A)
Cardiff (H)
West Ham (A)
Man City (H)
Wolves (A)
Crystal Palace (A)
Lukaku
Playing well. Shame about the team’s form
West Ham (A)
Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (A)
Everton (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Man City (A)
Giroud
Disappointing vs West Ham but when on the pitch has been effective. Will probably lose minutes due to substitutions. Tricky fixtures.
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Everton (H)
Mitrovic
Absolutely on fire. It’s just how sustainable it is
Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Cardiff (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Huddersfield (A)
Liverpool (A)
Firmino
Tricky fixtures and the attraction of Salah and Mane are the inhibitors
Chelsea (A)
Man City (H)
Huddersfield (A)
Cardiff (H)
Arsenal (A)
Fulham (H)
Wilson
Has been playing well and above historical levels and 90 mins. However, faced his first substitution though v Burnley. Fixtures are good.
Crystal Palace (H)
Watford (A)
Southampton (H)
Fulham (A)
Man Utd (H)
Newcastle (A)
Aubameyang
He is quality there’s no doubt. However, playing on the left and two 60 minute odd substitutions are the limitations on someone at this price.
Watford (H)
Fulham (A)
Leicester (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Liverpool (H)
Wolves (H)
Vardy
Good fixtures over the next 6, has pens and generally plays 90 minutes. Underlying stats are the cautionary tale
Newcastle (A)
Everton (H)
Arsenal (A)
West Ham (H)
Cardiff (A)
Burnley (H)
Lacazette
Despite the goal against Everton has not been great even as a starting CF. It’s all about fixtures
Watford (H)
Fulham (A)
Leicester (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Liverpool (H)
Wolves (H)
Arnautovic
An injury doubt for GW7. Fixtures are the limitation.
Man Utd (H)
Brighton (A)
Spurs (H)
Leicester (A)
Burnley (H)
Huddersfield (A)
Ings
Been excellent since the loan move and should have pens. Lack of history outside of a sub for Liverpool makes it difficult to assess over a longer period. Fixtures are tricky
Wolves (A)
Chelsea (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Newcastle (H)
Man City (A)
Watford (H)
Josh King
Has pens and good fixtures but offering little else.
Crystal Palace (H)
Watford (A)
Southampton (H)
Fulham (A)
Man Utd (H)
Newcastle (A)
Zaha
Now playing on the left of a front 3 which isn’t ideal with tricky fixtures after the next 3.
Bournemouth (A)
Wolves (H)
Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (A)
Spurs (H)
Deeney
Has pens and playing well. Above expectations but by all accounts a much happy camper than last season
Arsenal (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Wolves (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Newcastle (A)
Southampton (A)
Jimenez
Little history to assess him but good short term fixtures for a gamble
Southampton (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Watford (H)
Brighton (A)
Spurs (H)
Arsenal (A)
Murray
Has penalty duties but without Gross in a pretty negative team it’s uphill work
Man City (A)
West Ham (H
Newcastle (A)
Wolves (H)
Everton (A)
Cardiff (A)
Gray
The first showing of some decent stats v Fulham
Arsenal (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Wolves (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Newcastle (A)
Southampton (A)
