There’s player transfer suggestions at the end if you want to skip all the preamble.

Stats definitions:

I’ve firstly ordered the teams by what I think is their defensive strength based their goals, clean sheets, recent form and xG/shots conceded.

The stats after that are their:

best cheap secure gametime option and an attacking option so you can compare price.
GK price in as a comparison.
bookies odds for a clean sheet for GW38.  The lower the better obviously.

Player suggestions

Man City

Only Huddersfield have a worse xG at home than Brighton who Man City face so a clean sheet is a decent prospect here. £5.2m Kompany has started the last 3 and is great value.  Although he hasn’t been anything like a regular the importance of the occasion will likely see him start.  Otherwise £6.3m Laporte is your safest choice.

Liverpool

Wolves are no mugs against the top 6 but even with the risk against the clean sheet £5.7m Alexander Arnold  has great attacking potential through assists and goals.

Man Utd

It’s gameweek 27 , surprisingly against Liverpool, since Man Utd have had a clean sheet and before that GW13 against Palace.  The worst attacking sides away of Huddersfield, Brighton and Newcastle have all scored there.  Given all that you would still hope that OGS doesn’t rotate too much and the final home game sees some sort of motivation from the players.

Cardiff are down and easily one of the worst attacking sides away from home. £5.1m  Shaw has reasonable attacking potential and in a week of slim pickngs for clean sheets still ranks as one of the better punts

Southampton

Anyone at home to Huddersfield is a reasonable clean sheet option and Southampton are no exception.

Yoshida would be my pick although he is a major fitness doubt.  Therefore I would probably play safe with £4.0m CB Bednarek
