Fantasy premier league team tips GW17 – FFGeek contributors show their GW17 teams part 2

Here’s part 2 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

You can see the link to the part 1 contributors article here.

Prakhar Patel

Prakhar finished in 17th overall in fantasy premier league last season.  An amazing achievement

GW16 points: 97 (average 55) Total points 1,033, Gameweek rank 61k, Overall Rank: 6k, green arrow 23k, Team Value: £102.9m

This is how the team looks right now after an amazing game week with captain Salah delivering the goods for me. This week I have decided to bring Watford’s Jose Holebas in for Michael Keane as I think he could capitalise from their fixtures. Captaincy is pretty simple with Kane at home to Burnley. Wan Bissaka will come in if Callum Wilson misses out. That’s it

Good luck everyone and may your arrows be green!

Jordan Sadler

Jordan finished with an overall rank of 76k last season

GW16 points: 48 -8 (average 55) Total points 1,027, Gameweek rank 3,762k, Overall Rank: 9k, red arrow 7k, Team Value: £104.1m

Gameweek 15 review:

Worst Gameweek of the season. I regret my -8 now as it’s really made my team feel unbalanced and top heavy. Martial was injured versus Fulham which would have most likely been a big returner, Ings was injured still versus Cardiff which also could have been a good return and finally Trent was benched versus Bournemouth losing me a clean sheet. The big positive of the week was Salah’s huge return but overall it didn’t really matter as I still fell 7k which was pretty gutting after being so close to 1k. At least Aubameyang returned with an assist which is better than nothing. My other two returners were Doherty with a last minute winner for Wolves and Richarlison with his goal. The thing that really hurt as well was that all my non returning players only scored 1 except for Yedlin who scored -3… all in all just not a fun week for me at all.

Transfers:

I’ve got three potentially injured players and one suspended player at the moment so they needed to be looked at. I’m not sure of the extent of Trent’s injured so I’m going to hold him for now as I’m hoping he’ll be back for Wolves and Newcastle. Martial I think is still injured from what Mourinho said but you never know with Mourinho. From what I can tell, Ings is back training and should be fine for the weekend so I’m going to hold him. Yedlin is suspended so he’s going.

I’ve decided to hold Martial as I wasn’t planning on playing him this week anyway and I’m hoping he’ll be back for Cardiff and Huddersfield as they could both be big scoring games. So my transfer this week is quite an unorthodox one: I’ve transferred out Richarlison due to his poor next two fixtures for Snodgrass and then used that money to upgrade Yedlin to Luiz for a -4 points.

Bench Decisions:

I feel like bench decisions are going to be tough most weeks now with me having some low priced defenders now. This week I’ve benched Balbuena first as I didn’t want to double up with Fabianski. I’ve benched Kenedy second as I’m not even sure he’ll start and he doesn’t return much neither. Finally, my third sub is Martial as he may be injured and he’s against Liverpool who so far have the best defensive record in the league. I’ve put Fabianski in again this week over Patricio as when the fixtures are of similar difficulty I much prefer the combination of Fabianski and Doherty over Patricio and Balbuena.

Captain:

This week I’ve captained Kane. Both Sane and Aubameyang are viable picks in my opinion but Kane’s fixture versus Burnley at home is just too good to pass up in my opinion.

Transfer summary:  Richarlison out for Snodgrass and Yedlin out for Luiz -4 points

Robert Cosgrove

Robert finished with an OR of 20k last season and 23k in 16/17

GW16 points: 79 (average 55) Total points 1,004, Gameweek rank 666k, Overall Rank: 24k, green arrow 22k, Team Value: £103.1m

So last week I made a last minute transfer of Arnie out for Hernandez which I was pretty happy with. Having Kane captain instead of Salah was annoying but I finished with a good score overall so wasn’t too hung up on it.

This week I had a few transfers floating round in my head based on fixtures which were Doucoure or Schurrle in for Kenedy or to do straight swap of Wilson for Mitrovic. However, looking ahead I felt my defence needed improving as Digne has 2 hard games coming up and Doherty faces hard games every other week now, therefore I needed better cover. So I have decided to transfer Kolasinac in for Digne who I am an admirer of due to his attacking potential (and my love for full backs!).

Kane obvious captain choice this week.

Costas Chari

Costas finished with an OR of 29k last season and 27k in 16/17

GW16 points: 63 -4 (average 55) Total points 941, Gameweek rank 1,818k, Overall Rank: 183k, red arrow 3k, Team Value: £102.0m

My differential picks paid off last week with Paterson, Snodgrass and Digne all giving points whereas I was left down by the likes of Kane and Aubameyang. A 3k red arrow is not that bad though.

No transfers for Real Chariedad this week, I am  Banking my transfer as I would like to see how rotation plays out this week. If i was making a transfer that would have been Martial out but I want to monitor his fitness as he has 4 good fixtures coming up.

Captain-wise there no other than Harry Kane this week!

I am benching my Everton assets and Paterson is first choice. I think that with any Opponent if Martial plays he can make some damage so he stays in.

Transfer summary:  carrying over a free transfer
