Some stats
This week I’m looking at Aguero and Hazard as there’s still no certainty Salah will start.
Aguero
Here’s Aguero’s starts in 17/18 against non top 6 sides at home.
Returns in 7/10 games (70%). He also was benched in mainly away games as well which is a good sign
Here’s his 18/19 home games against non top 6 teams
So he’s returned in all 4 games and started in all 4. A good average and 2/4 double figure FPL point hauls. The minutes are the things that standout though. Apparently it’s to do with a foot injury which is being managed so if that’s cleared up maybe we will see more.
The Burnley defence
The Burnley defence has yet to play away against a top 6 team. There only game against a top 6 team was v Man Utd where they lost at home 0-2.
Overall in goals conceded they are 8th equal among 5 teams that have conceded 12 goals. In xG conceded they are alot worse in 18th place overall
Hazard
Here’s Hazard’s games in 17/18 against top 6 sides at home. Difficult to translate stats for Hazard to this season given that Conte was such a defensive manager compared to Sarri.
Yes he blanked in all 5 games. You can see apart from the Spurs game though how low scoring they were. I can’t see that being the case with Sarri.
In 18/19 he’s started 2 games at home against top 6 opposition. Here’s the stats
So scored v Liverpool and if he scores he has a decent chance of 3 bonus points as well.
The Man Utd defence
Man Utd have yet to play a top 6 team away in 18/19. The only top 6 opponent so far has been Spurs at home where they lost 0-3 although the xG conceded was 1.4 and Spurs only had 9 shots.
Overall as a defence they’ve conceded 14 goals which is 16th equal in the league. In overall xG conceded they are ranked 10th.
Here’s the 17/18 results away against top 6 sides.
Gwk | Opponent | Score |
8 | Liverpool | 0:0 |
11 | Chelsea | 1:0 |
15 | Arsenal | 1:3 |
25 | Spurs | 2:0 |
33 | Man City | 2:3 |
The questions is will and does Mourinho’s team have the ability to shut up shop against Chelsea
Summary
I would be very surprised if either Hazard or Aguero didn’t start given the importance of the game to Chelsea and Aguero being rested over the international break unlike Jesus.
Both have penalty duties btw.
The Bookies have Aguero at £1.40 anytime goalscoring odds and Hazard £2.20
The polls have Aguero as the runaway leader. I think the FFGeek poll will be the most reflective of what people are doing and that’s 68% Aguero to 5% Hazard.
Stats wise you would go with Aguero although minutes have been a concern. The Man Utd defence has been poor but Burnley have been shambolic although it seems key defender Tarkowski is fit at least.
The FFGeek choice
The polls are too strong to ignore so I’m going with Aguero.
The transfer in and out polls
That’s it hope you found it useful.
