Introduction

This is part 4 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.  The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change.  Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed

Gameweek 34

This was another massively disappointing gameweek and a top 10k finish now looks even less likely. An interesting statistic I saw was that the top 10k scored on average fewer points this week than the average score of the entire 8 million + overall players. If this wasn’t a once off I’d think it would be problematic for the sustainability of the game.

Gameweek 35

This week sees United with a triple and number of juicy doubles. Those with Free Hit chips intact will be relishing this gameweek.

I’ve taken a hit to move out Lloris for Henderson and Azpilicueta for Digne, who has a decent-looking double gameweek and good fixtures in GW36 and GW37. This should translate to a healthy GW35 team and leave me a transfer or two away from a decent team in GW36.

Henderson is the only way I can get in a third Manchester United player without having to transfer him out to avoid blanking in GW36. I think he’s the most likely to play all three games, but it wouldn’t be a shock if he didn’t. I’ll field Martinez in GW36 and possibly in the final gameweek if Henderson is stood down for de Gea. I’m very aware that I’m wasting transfers on goalkeepers when I have issues with Rudiger, Coady and Jorginho, but I’m gambling Henderson does well this week.

I also considered Coady out for Kabak but that would not help the GW36 shortfall in players. For GW36 I think I’ll be getting rid of Rudiger and Iheanacho.

Captain will be on Fernandes with vice on Salah. Henderson is a cheeky outside thought for the armband this week. If the beer tastes good tonight I might do a late swap.

Good luck, all!

Transfer summary: Lloris for Henderson and Azpilicueta for Digne

GW34 Review

A bizarre GW. The postponement of Man United vs Liverpool meant 4 of my players blanked. I managed to only have 8 players on the pitch including a one-minute cameo by Davis.

Fortunately, my Captain gamble paid off and Iheanacho returned 10 points. Son (12) contributed a goal and an assist. Coufal (7) and Sanchez (6) both provided clean sheets. All in all, a green arrow of 2k and a transfer banked.

GW35 Plans

Man United have a triple game week. My plans had been to sell Son for Greenwood and upgrade Davis to DCL or Watkins.

However, Greenwood played a full match in the Europa League last night and I can only see him playing 2 matches in GW35 then a blank in GW36. Son will play 2 matches over the same time period and Spurs’ fixtures look very good going forward. With price changes pricing me out of Vardy to Kane in GW36 I don’t really want to be without both Kane and Son for the run in and their 45% ownership.

The same holds true for Maguire. I don’t think he will play more than 2 matches in the next 2 GWs.

At present I have Bruno for the triple and Forster, Trent, Rudiger, Holding, Salah, Jota, Iheanacho and Vardy for the double. So, 9 players have more than one match.

But as it stands Rudiger, Holding, Bruno, Nacho and Vardy will blank in GW36 plus Davis is unlikely to get many minutes. Apart from my triple scousers, I don’t have a single player who doubles in GW35 and plays in GW36.

I also don’t know how many minutes Rudiger and Holding will play.

I intend to wait until we have team news before making my transfer(s).

Chelsea have difficult fixtures and are involved in 2 cup finals so rotation is likely to be a factor. I am not sure if Rudiger will play both DGW matches. So, one transfer option is Rudiger to Holgate.

Another option is to upgrade Davis to Benteke.

Not very exciting options but they would allow me to use my 2FTs to sell Vardy and Rudiger/Holding next week and field 11 players in GW36

My final option is Son to Zaha and Davis to Watkins/DCL.

Captaincy

It is a shame that Bruno played so many minutes last night in the Europa League semi-final. I expect to give him the armband.

Other options are Salah and Iheanacho.

At present my armband is on Bruno Fernandes.

Transfer summary: To be confirmed

Hi all, Son to Rashford- Trying to play different to catch up some OR, plus after Rashford being rested in Europe league he can be get a big haul when I suspect he will start 2 plus 1 from the bench. So 3 triple, 7 double and one single (Kane), only debate in lineup is between Rudiger and Holgate. BTW, he is only my VC, but I can see Salah scoring at least 3 in his 2 games without a rotation.

BTW , my Twitter account is still suspended for some reason, I hope I will be able to activate it soon, it is only for you guys, anyway as I am having a nightmare season I am already anxious to start next season to try to be at the top again.

Good luck all! Yours Yaniv
